Why a family wish list needs a permanent link

The usual pattern looks like this: a new list gets made for every birthday, every Christmas, and a new link goes out to the same relatives each time. Someone saves the wrong one, someone asks which link is current this year, someone buys off a list that's a year out of date. None of that is really about the list itself, it's about the link changing every time. A family wish list fixes the actual problem: each child gets one link, permanently, and it's Hey Yoink's job to keep that link pointing at the right thing.

How the permanent link works

Create a profile for a child (or any family member) from your dashboard, and Hey Yoink gives you one link for them that never changes. Behind that link, it always shows whichever list is current for that profile: this year's birthday list, next Christmas's list, and the one after that all live behind the exact same URL over time. Start a new list for a profile and the permanent link updates to show it automatically, so you only ever share the link once, not once per occasion.

Built to be easy for the people who aren't techy

Nobody opening the link needs an account or needs to know Hey Yoink exists as a product: it opens straight into the current list, the same as any other Hey Yoink guest link, with the child's name clearly shown so there's no confusion about whose list it is. Save it once, bookmark it, and it's the only link that relative ever needs for that child again, whether they're checking it in January or the following December.
